I decided to make a move very reluctantly as I love my house and my neighbours. Unfortunately I was having problems navigating the stairs so the time had come.
A friend of mine was selling her condo which she had recently renovated so I am buying that. Her son, who is also in real estate, referred me to Ken Rigel saying that he had Ken sell his house and that he had found him to be very honest and that he would definitely use him again. So of course I used Ken and his company.
The sale of my house was very smooth and professional. I was kept up to date on everything and consulted on the details.
When the time comes to sell my condo I will be using Ken and his company again because I could not find anyone better. I found it to be a very positive experience. My thanks to the Ken Rigel Group!

My daughter had previously used Ken as her Realtor, so when I was looking to sell my home, she recommended I speak to him.
Ken was very responsive and within a day or so came to see my home. A day later he had developed a marketing plan and gave me good counsel on how to stage my place for the listing photo shoot and eventual showings. At one point I mentioned I was having difficulty removing some screens so I could clean my windows, and Ken happily showed me how to do that. I was also going to tell him I was having trouble replacing the wax seals on my toilets, but decided against that.
His recommendations were numbers-driven and based on his considerable experience as a Realtor. But as importantly, he inspired confidence that the plan would bring results. Ken respectfully and logically helped me understand where the market was at, and that helped temper my expectations, which were a little high and would have slowed the process.
We agreed on a list price and after only a couple showings, I accepted a great offer. The buyers ultimately backed away from the deal, and the home was again on the market. In the meantime, we had lost almost two weeks of showing opportunities. I was very disappointed, but Ken remained confident there would be a positive outcome.
For a short while, no other serious offers were received, so Ken recommended a moderate price adjustment that he believed would get the market's attention. A short while later, I received an offer which I accepted, and closing will occur later this month.
When offers were received, Ken provided great counsel on navigating the offer/counter-offer process. He has also proven to have a wealth of knowledge relating to services most of us don't regularly use (e.g. who to use for carpet cleaning, and who to consider as a mover).
Looking back, I found Ken and his Office Manager Jill Clark to be easy to deal, responsive and able to answer any questions I had about the process. Ken is a great listener and was more than willing to hear me through when I had ideas on what we could do to bring about a sale. While Realtors tend to be extremely confident, I appreciated that Ken's confidence was tempered by a sense of reality that helped keep me grounded through the process.
I am very pleased to recommend Ken as a Realtor.
I will shortly become a buyer rather than a seller, and am looking forward to his support in that process.
As an aside, a real shout out to Office Manager Jill Clark. Her customer service skills are tremendous and she is a real asset to your brokerage

My wife and I were looking forward to working with Brandy because we knew she was trustworthy and dedicated. We are a young blended family who had desperately outgrown our current accommodations, but with the housing situation in Calgary, we were not sure if we would be able to find a house that suited our needs. Brandy worked tirelessly to find the right house for us. After only a few months of looking in a difficult market, we were able to purchase a beautiful new home that we believe will suit us for years to come!
We were especially happy with Brandy's knowledge of houses and what to watch out for. I personally feel that she probably saved us a few times from unexpected future expenses and her honest communication about the current state of the Calgary housing market made us glad that we were working with Brandy. She got us in touch with fantastic mortgage brokers, home inspectors and property lawyers as well. She seemed to go above and beyond what I've seen from other real estate agents in the past. It doesn't hurt that Brandy seems to really enjoy her job which made each viewing a wonderful, fun experience! Our young 4 year old daughter is still asking "Can we go see Brandy's house again?"
If I had to give any advice to potential buyers, it would be to find someone you can trust and who knows the Calgary market. Then act quickly when you see something that works for you
